How can I use a photo – standard licence?
The standard license only includes personal rights use for photos, nor print them for commercial use. You can:
- Use the photo perpetually – there is no expiration or end date of the rights to the photo, unless you refund or cancel your order.
- The photo is non-exclusive – you do not have exclusive rights to the content.
- You can use the photo worldwide, in any geographic territory.
- You can use the photo for personal use, including personal projects, desktop backgrounds etc.
- Non-profits can use the photo commercially.
You cannot with the standard licence:
- Use the photo for unlawful use, such as defamatory or a pornographic manner, to promote violence, hatred, or any violation of regulations.
- No commercial use – you cannot use the standard licence for publishing content for profit, in trademarks or logos, newspapers, magazines, and similar for profit uses.
- No standalone file use – you cannot use content in a way that allows it to be redistributed as a standalone file, downloaded, or extracted.
- No false representation of authorship – you cannot falsely represent that you are the original creator of an end use that is made of licensed content.
- No products for resale – you cannot use the image in connection with goods or services intended to resale or distribute where the image is the primary value.
- No electronic templates – the image cannot be used and distributed in electronic templates.
- No printing – a standard licence image cannot be printed commercially or professionally.
- No machine use – you cannot use the image to train AI or machine learning.
How can I use the image – extended licence?
The extended license allows for commercial use as well as personal use.
- Use the photo perpetually – there is no expiration or end date of the rights to the photo, unless you refund or cancel your order.
- The photo is non-exclusive – you do not have exclusive rights to the content.
- You can use the photo worldwide, in any geographic territory.
- The photo can be used commercially, including in prints, on websites, newspapers, magazines etc that are for profit.
- Commercial use – you can use the extended licence for publishing content for profit, in trademarks or logos, newspapers, magazines, and similar for profit uses.
- Printing – you can include the image in print runs, where the image is not the primary value (ie you can use the image for articles as a main spread image, however not on its own with no additional value).
